The U.S.-India Business Council and USCIB formally launched the Manhattan-India Investment Roundtable at a February 5 reception and dinner in New York City.
Over 120 members and friends, largely from the financial services community, attended the program. A tribute was paid during the program to USCIB Chairman Dean R. O’Hare, former chairman & CEO of The Chubb Corporation, and the former chairman of the U.S.-India Business Council.

Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Jon Huntsman
presented the keynote address for the inaugural program, discussing how the U.S. and India could begin to work together on trade matters in 2003. A cash award was also provided to Digital Partners, a Seattle-based organization, for its work in using information technology to better the livelihood of the poor in India.
The U.S.-India Business Council and USCIB plan to jointly host a regular series of programs in New York. The Roundtable will feature important policy makers and other influential persons from India, discussing key topics of the day with New York’s business leaders. The U.S.-India Business Council will also post a representative in USCIB’s New York headquarters.
