Young Arbitrators Forum

USCIB Committee on Arbitration

Mission Statement

YAF is organized by USCIB, the U.S. national committee to the International Court of Arbitration© of the International Chamber of Commerce (the “ICC Court”).  The aim of YAF is to provide a forum at which young professionals (age 40 and under) practicing or interested in international dispute resolution can exchange ideas and learn from established and up-and-coming practitioners in the field.

YAF seeks to:

►         Provide a forum for young professionals to ask questions and learn from well-established practitioners about career development and issues of interest in the field;

►         Provide opportunities for young professionals to network, and identify and develop mentor   relationships;

►            Encourage members to write papers of interest for distribution amongst YAF members and others;

►            Organize educational programs, receptions, or social events hosted by participating YAF firms nationally;

►         Work with other young arbitrator groups; and

►         Educate and expose members to ICC’s arbitral procedure and ICC’s other dispute resolution services, such as Appointing Authority, Pre-Arbitral Referee, ADR, DOCDEX, Expertise and Dispute Boards.

YAF’s Steering Committee may consist of between 15-20 young professionals from different USCIB member firms.  YAF’s Steering Committee will meet periodically to exchange ideas for future programs and events, and discuss ways to continually strengthen the group.

Vision Statement

To create a better informed, connected and inspired group of young professionals who will become tomorrow’s leading international arbitration and ADR experts.
