ILO Global Conference on Elimination of Child Labor

May 15, 2022 - May 20, 2022

The ILO Global Conference on Elimination of Child Labor is a platform bringing together representatives from governments, trade unions, the private sector, civil society regional and international organizations, think tanks, academia, youth and children, to share their experiences, good practices and to push for accelerated further collective actions to eliminate child labor.

The last Global Conference took place in Argentina in 2017, where many stakeholders made pledges to end child labor. This year’s Conference will be an opportunity to discuss the implementation and impact of these pledges, and to continue the momentum built in the 2021 International Year of Elimination of Child Labor. The program includes forums, panel discussions, brainstorming sessions and side events.

Many of you have already been invited and have participated in the regional consultations which took place in December 2021. We encourage  all members, especially those from Alliance 8.7 pathfinder countries, to register and participate in the Global Conference on May 15-20, 2022.

Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the Conference will be held in hybrid format, with online participation as well as participation in-person at the Durban International Convention Centre in South Africa.

Please register HERE by March 7, 2022, whether taking part in person or online.
