Privacy Policy

This is the website of the United States Council for International Business (USCIB).

Our postal address is:

1212 Avenue of the Americas
New York, NY 10036

We can be reached by telephone at (212) 354-4480.

USCIB maintains a website with two broad categories of users:

  • Visitors
  • USCIB Members

USCIB is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors and members.  To that end, below you will find the privacy policies related to each category.

Information Automatically Collected from Visitors and Members:  Visitors to our website browse anonymously unless they volunteer individually identifiable information (see Volunteered Information).  Our Web server does not automatically collect any information regarding the visitor’s e-mail address.  Any other information collected, such as originating domain, time of visit, connection speed, and pages accessed is maintained in aggregate form.   USCIB makes no attempt to correlate such information to an individual user.  This information is not individually identifiable and will only be used to improve the performance and responsiveness of our website.

Individually identifiable information Volunteered from Visitors and Members:  We collect the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us directly via e-mail (as opposed to general Web visitors). All information volunteered by the visitor, such as survey information and/or site registrations (e.g. name, email, address, fax number) may also be retained.  Except for information needed to communicate back with a visitor to respond to their specific request (need to e-mail, mail or fax further information, etc.), no part of the visitor site requires the visitor to provide individually identifiable information.  This information is for internal use only and will only be shared with third parties if needed to complete a request (e.g. shipping company).

Individually identifiable information Voluntarily Provided by Members on the Members Only Portion of Our Site:  The USCIB website includes a Members Only section from which Members can access internal USCIB documents and register for USCIB meetings, etc.  To log on to the Members Only section, a member’s name, email address, and company name will be stored in order to link the member with his/her password.   To log on to the Members Only portion of our site, Members are required to provide a unique password for identification and security purposes.  We only collect individually identifiable information (e.g. name, title, company name, work address, work telephone number, work fax, work e-mail address, credit card account information) voluntarily provided by members, such as for online meeting registration.

Security of Individually identifiable information:  USCIB takes reasonable measures to ensure the security of individually identifiable information stored on our website through the use of standard Internet security measures like firewalls and encryption.  Only necessary employees have access to secure individually identifiable information and those employees must use a password to access that information.

Access to Individually identifiable information:  Upon request, visitors and Members will be provided a copy of the individually identifiable information that we store about them in order for them to correct and/or update that information.  To obtain a copy of this information, please contact us at (212) 354-4480. Please note that we may request information to ensure the identity of the individual requesting access to individually identifiable information.

Links to Other Websites:  Our website provides links to other websites. No individually identifiable information is shared between USCIB and these other websites.  Once a visitor or member leaves the USCIB website, they are subject to the policy of the new site to which they have hyperlinked and should consult that sites privacy policy for its information practices.

Internet as an Evolving Medium:  The Internet is an evolving medium.  Therefore, USCIB may from time to time update its privacy policy.  If the policy is updated, its application will only be from the date of posting forward.  If the updated policy is applied retroactively relevant parties will be notified and will be offered the opportunity to opt-out from the retroactive application.
