Agnes Vinblad is USCIB’s Director of Environment and Sustainable Development. In this role, Vinblad is the Policy Lead for Climate, Biodiversity, and Environment, and heads up USCIB’s Environment Committee. Vinblad represents USCIB members at key global policy deliberations across the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), UN Convention on Biological Diversity (UN CBD), and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). Vinblad also represents USCIB members at meetings of the OECD/IEA Climate Change Expert Group (CCXG), and the OECD Environment Policy Committee (EPOC). She co-leads USCIB’s SDG Working Group, supporting the organizations’ representation to the UN in New York and workstreams related to the SDGs and the 2030 Development Agenda.
Vinblad has represented U.S. Business perspectives at several high-level UN conferences across the world, including in Geneva, Paris, Stockholm, Nairobi, Sharm el-Sheikh, Doha, and Montreal, serving as Head of Delegation to critical meetings such as UN Stockholm+50 in Sweden, UN Biodiversity COP15 in Canada, multiple Climate COPs, and other UNFCCC intersessional negotiations.
She brings with her years of experience in multilateral engagement from her time working with the Youth Innovation Program at UN SDSN Youth, among other roles. In 2018, she represented the European Union as a G7 Youth Delegate, crafting and delivering policy recommendations through the Youth 7 (Y7) Summit – one of the Official G7 Engagement Summits informing the formal negotiations. In 2020, Vinblad was listed as a Top 33 Under 33 Sustainability Talent in her home country Sweden.
Vinblad joined USCIB in 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Long Island University, where she graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honors.
